Hong Kong Education Delegation Visited Jiangnan University

 On the afternoon of April 3rd, WONG Ka Fai, General Secretary of the Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China, along with CHAN Tsun Kit, the Director of Education Department, and representatives from the Hong Kong education sector, visited Jiangnan University for exchange and dialogue. Zhu Fei, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangnan University Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the University, met with the delegation. Dai Yun, Deputy Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office and Vice Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Zhang Chunmei, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities, as well as Cai Jianying and Qin Jie, Deputy Directors of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office, among others, attended the meeting.

Zhu Fei warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the university's educational philosophy, academic characteristics, departmental setup, and development goals. He pointed out that in recent years, Jiangnan University has established long-term friendly cooperative relationships with several universities in Hong Kong, working together for the management of students from the Hong Kong and Macao SARs. In the future, Jiangnan University will continue to promote exchanges between students and faculties between the two sides, in order to better serve the regional and local economic development.

Wong Ka Fai expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Jiangnan University and appreciated the achievements our university has made in recent years in talent cultivation and discipline construction. He expressed anticipation for further strengthening cooperation with our university in talent cultivation and other areas in the future.

Cai Jianying briefly introduced the inter-university exchanges, research cooperation, student training, and the establishment of alliances for cooperation between universities among Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macao. She pointed out that the university will continue to leverage its disciplinary advantages to deepen cooperation with Hong Kong universities, attracting more students from Hong Kong to study in Chinese mainland. Zhang Chunmei provided an overview of the School of Humanities and expressed willingness of introducing innovative teaching concepts across various levels, modules, and domains. Dai Yun presented the university's admissions work for students from Hong Kong and Macao SARs, affirming our commitment to an education policy centered around “benefiting the students”, welcoming students from Hong Kong to study at Jiangnan University and discover better selves.

During the meeting, topics such as examinations and admission policies for Hong Kong students in Chinese mainland were discussed, as well as their living conditions in Wuxi. After the meeting, the delegation visited the university's history gallery.

The visit by the Hong Kong education delegation further promoted the exchange and connection between Jiangnan University and the education sector in Hong Kong. Both sides will continue to learn from each other, complement each other's strengths, and explore new models for talent cultivation.
