At the meeting to celebrate the 31^stTeacher's Day held by Jiangnan University on 10 September 2015, 16 teachers received “checks” from university leaders, getting the faculty fellowship in the total amount of 1.1 million yuan. It is the first time for Jiangnan University to establish the teaching excellence award to reward those teachers who have realized good teaching effect, high teaching quality and active participation in the undergraduate teaching construction. The teaching excellence award includes two types, i.e. “Honors Master Teacher” and “Honors Teaching Award”, respectively offering the award in the amount of 150,000 yuan and 50,000 yuan for each prize winner. This news aroused wide media attention in China.
