In order to inherit and carry forward the Silk Road Spirit - "peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit", promote cultural exchanges between nations, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province People's Government organized 2ndSilk Road Youth Tour. The “Global Night” Party was held at Jiangnan University on December 4, 2015. Sixty international students of Nanjing University,Southeast University and Nanjing University of Science and Technology from 21 countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road paid a visit to Jiangnan University and spent a memorable night of cultural exchanges together with teachers and students there.
Wuxi, as a central city in the legend of Taibo Running to the Wu Land over 5000 years ago, is inextricably linked with the Silk Road and is regarded as a possible origin of the Silk Road by some researchers. The International Office of Jiangnan University, in cooperation with its School of International Education and School of Textile and Clothing jointly hosted the “Global Night” Party, which is one of the important events of the Silk Road Youth Tour. While providing the students with a cultural feast, this party also increased the mutual understanding among youth of different countries and promoted the continuation and development of traditional friendship.
