On 19 April 2016, a delegation headed by Professor Peter Sperber, President of Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences in Germany pays a visit to Jiangnan University. The delegation includes Christian Wachtmeister, Managing Director of Muhlbauer Technologies Malaysia, Huang Fuqiang, General Manager of Muehlbauer Technologies (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., etc.
Professor Jin Zhengyu, Vice President of Jiangnan University meets with the visiting guests. Vice President Jin Zhengyu briefs the guests about Jiangnan University and President Peter Sperber makes an introduction about Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences.
At the meeting, a new model is proposed for jointly training students among the two universities and one enterprise. Under this new model, based on the training mode of “3+1” of the Outstanding Engineer Program of China’s Ministry of Education, students of Jiangnan University can begin one-year internship in the headquarters of the Muehlbauer Group in Germany after finishing the first 3-year undergraduate courses at Jiangnan University. Meanwhile, students of Jiangnan University under the joint guidance of the university supervisor and the enterprise supervisor attend specialized courses and German culture courses at Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences, so that they can get a better understanding about German culture and adapt themselves more quickly into the German enterprise. During the same period, the students can finish their undergraduate graduation project, laying a good foundation for their future job.
This “university-enterprise-university” joint training is a new model for cultivating trained personnel. Its implementation will effectively improve the cultivation quality of engineering graduates of Jiangnan University.
