It signifies that JU’s study on food safety and management has reached a national level. It’s expected that this research base will be made a national think tank with years of development.Recently, Food Supervision Department from SFDA hosted a meeting in Beijing, which witnessed the participation of officials and experts from Ministry of Agriculture (MA), Health and Family Planning Commission (HFPC), State Quality Inspection Administration (SQIA), China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CNCFSRA), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Renmin University of China (RUC), China Agricultural University (CAU), Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU), China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA), China Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST). At the meeting, Prof. Wu Linhai, Doc. Wang Jianhua from JU’s Food Safety Research Base introduced the functional orientation, overall framework as well as the main content of the analysis report of national food and safety, which got highly appreciations from the presented experts.
Director Fan Hongping from the Food Supervision Department of NFDA pointed out that a national-level situational analysis of food safety report should meet the following standards: revealing the general condition of the national food safety quarterly, describing the overall situation of the national food safety accurately, and predicting the possibility of common risks or related important issues precisely. Meanwhile, the report should be providing authoritative data, accurate analysis and scientific conclusion. All of these are criteria to offer service and supervision for food saftey control, which should by extention withstand the time-testing. Prof. Wu agreed with the remark and committed that JU would do its utmost to finishing the program and make the food safety situation in China a better place.
