Congratulations to Yixun 'Sunshine' Xia, who won the Institute for Perception student award!

Yixun Xia, who goes by the English name of ‘Sunshine’, is a student who is performing her sensory Ph.D thesis research in Professor Mike O’Mahony’s laboratory. She is visiting the lab for two years from Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China. She has just been awarded the meritorious Institute for Perception prize for her research in Davis. This is an international prize. Last year’s recipient was from Spain and the year before it was awarded to a student from Denmark; she will be the first Chinese person to receive this award. She was awarded the prize because of her breakthrough research into preference and difference testing. The award ceremony will be in November.

2013 Institute for Perception Student Award
We are pleased to announce thatYixun Xiais the recipient of the 2013 Institute for Perception Student Award. Yixun is a graduate student of Professor Fang Zhong at Jiangnan University and is currently working on a collaborative program with Professor Michael O'Mahony at the University of California, Davis while she completes her PhD thesis research.
