JU Curriculum Selected as CEM’s Excellent Open Course

According toAnnouncement of 2013 Excellent Open curriculum Construction (Category of Introductory curriculum)(GJSH NO. 69, 2013),issued by China’s Ministry of Education (CEM), the curriculum of “Introduction to Food Science and Engineering” led by Professor Jin Zhengyu from Jiangnan University (JU) is on the list among 27 curriculums which were selected out of 178 applicants from 84 universities.

The curriculum, mainly carried out by JU with the participation of Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU) as well, consists of a series of courses including “Introduction to Food Science and Engineering” lectured by JU Prof. Jin Zhengyu, “Introduction to Wine Brewing Engineering” lectured by JU Prof. Xu Yan, “Introduction to Food Quality and Safety” lectured by JU Prof. Zhang Hao, “Introduction to Grain Processing Engineering” lectured by JU Prof. Zhou Huiming and “Introduction to Dairy Products Engineering” lectured by NEAU Prof. Xu Xiaoxi. It is mainly about brief introduction, historical stretch, significance in the Food Industry, and basic theories and Practical skills of the related introductory courses in Food Science and Engineering.

The CEM’s Excellent Open curriculums will be designed as an important national Open Course Platform to provide students and the public with easy access to professional training.
