Room 307, Administration Building, afternoon of Aug. 21 – A ceremony was staged to appoint three internationally renowned nursing experts as Jiangnan University Visiting Professors, who are Professor Janet Louise Larson from University of Michigan, U.S., Professor Alex Molasiotis and Professor LOKE, YUEN Jean Tak Alice from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, .

In the ceremony, Professor Xu Yan, Vice President of Jiangnan University (JU), presented them the JU Visiting Professor Certificates and Professor Wu Zhengguo, JU Assistant President and Executive Dean of JU’s Wuxi Medical School briefed the attendees the three prominent professors in the field of Nursing research and Practice. All the three professors felt honored and expressed their strong desire to make contributions to the development of JU’s Wuxi Medical School.

Dr. Janet Louise Larson is a professor and the Division Chair of Acute, Critical, and Long-term Care Division from Michigan University, U.S., and has a couple of Affiliation services such as Nursing Assembly Chair of American Thoracic Society, President of Midwest Nursing Research Society, and member of American College of Sports Medicine, Editorial board Member of some professional journals includingChest, Image, Heart & Health, etc. Dr. Larson is an expert in the pulmonary rehabilitation of people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with more 60 papers published and many awards won like Distinguished Contribution to Research in the Midwest, Midwest Nursing Research Society.

Dr. Alex Molasiotis holds a couple of important posts of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, including Head and Chair Professor of the School of Nursing, Angel S.P. Chan Lau Professor in Health and Longevity, Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Community Health Services. He is also a Visiting Professor of National University of Singapore and Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa, the Editor-in-Chief ofEuropean Journal of Oncology Nursing, Editorial board Member of such magazines asSupportive Care in Cancer, Complementary & Alternative Therapies in Clinical Practice, and Health Sciences Journal.He enjoys some Board Membership in International Societies including Executive Board Member and Co-chair of Antiemetics study group of Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), Board member of Nurse & AP Committeee of International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). In the past three years, he has published more 50 papers and 5 books.

Dr. LOKE, YUEN Jean Tak Alice, is a Chair Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the initiator of HongKong Academy of nursing, Vice President of Hong Kong Nursing Education and Research committee, Reviewer of Healthcare and Improvement Fund of Hongkong Food and Health Bureau, former President of International Honor Society of Nursing, an editor of some International periodicals includingJournal of Clinical Nursing Special Issue: Sexuality and Reproductive Health,and has published 30 more papers in the past three years.(Wuxi Medical School)
