Wuxi Daily Aug.22nd——Wuxi government approved the joint venture construction agreement with JU yesterday. On the ceremony and the colloquium afterwards, Lixin HUANG, Standing Member of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPC and Secretary of Wuxi Municipal Committee of CPC, remarked that a new approach would be explored and a more conducive development environment would be created to help JU progressed in all construction work. She said that JU would contrive a strategic scheme, deepen reform and innovation and raise its own level, to grow to be a distinctive high-level research university and make greater contribution to Wuxi modernization then. Quan WANG, Guozhong WANG and Boya HUA participated in the event.
According to the agreement, JU is about to give full play to its predominant points on talents training, Sci-Tech innovation, community service and cultural inheriting and innovating, to provide local community and economic development with more technology and intelligence support. Likewise, Wuxi government will integrate JU’s construction and development into the city planning, favoring JU on its construction of top-notch personnel, creative team, research platform, innovation platform of preponderant discipline and Wuxi medical college, aiming to bring about a win-win result.
In her statement, HUANG fully affirmed the contributions made by JU on helping community and economic development. At present, the whole city exerted to work on the program of building a demonstrative region of modernization in Southern Jiangsu, strived to build “Three districts, Three centers” and “Four Demonstrative Areas”, to ensure to be the first modernized city in Jiangsu, she said. As the only university located here, JU should play more important role in the construction program for its own responsibility, capability and conditions. She hoped that JU would aim at a higher rank and greater goal, consolidating and enhancing the competitiveness amid all universities nationally. JU is supposed to accomplish the four jobs. Firstly, JU needs to prove the teaching system unprecedentedly effective, to explore a new teaching system which stresses on practical training and innovation ability improving. Secondly, JU needs to make a breakthrough on technology innovation, to exploit its own advantages, enlarge the investment on international edge-cutting research and enhance innovative ability. Thirdly, JU needs to act a new role in local service, to work as a brain trust to boost the industrial upgrading and culture inheriting. Also co-operated with local government, JU should push on industrialization of research outcomes and benefit the city and itself mutually. Fourthly, JU needs to make a new progress in opening and collaboration, to renovate the system, strengthen communication with high-level institutes home and abroad and reinforce overall strength and international competitiveness.
On the ceremony, JU, with 15 municipal departments and 33 enterprises, signed agreements which are involved in talents training, IOT, food chemistry, mechanics, fabrics and bio-pharmacy.
