According to news from a recently-held National Symposium on Patents Information of Institutions of Higher Learning, the number of Jiangnan University (JU) in Patent Licence Filing (PLF) ranks No.2 in 2011 and 2012 among all institutions of higher learning in China. Meanwhile, South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Zhejiang University (ZJU) rank No.1 with the most Patent Licence Filings in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Also, according to a five-year ranking from 2008-2012, ZJU, SCUT, Donghua University and JU ranks from No.1 to No.4 in the number of PLF respectively.
Patent Licence Filing is a system implemented by China’s State Intellectual Property Office to regulate the practice of patent licence issuing and to file the contracts for the application of patents, which has been increasing playing an important role in the protection and application of patents as well as has shown case the practical applicability and transfer of patents in particular.
