On March 17, an award ceremony titled “A Gratitude From Wuxi People and a Foundation for Wuxi Future”was held to praise some figures who have made outstanding contributions to Wuxi education and therefore were honored with“2012 Persons of Wuxi Education”.

Among the winners, Professor Li Qi from the School of Biotechnology, Jiangnan University, was singled out with achievements remarked like this, "With the aim of 'Turning China a Country Rich in Manufaturing into One in Creation', she has been pursuing passionately for her undertaking and has conquered 'peaks' of scientific research, and never ceases striving for perfection to realize the 'China Dream'”.
