On the morning of April 9, the Education Department of Jiangsu Province (EDJP) held a “2013 Promotion Conference on Entrepreneurial Education for Jiangsu-province-based Institutions of Higher Learning” at Jiangsu-province Convention Center. Fu Huiming, Vice Chancellor and also Vice President of Jiangnan University(JU), Zhu Fei, Director of the Student Affairs Department and Shen Guoqiang, General Manager of JIiangnan University Science Park (J-PARK), attended the meeting, at which J-PARK was awarded “Jiangsu-province Demonstration Base for College-student Entrepreneurship”.

In J-PARK, a series of service platforms has been established such as Guidance Center, Service Center, Incubation Center, Start-up Alliance, Training Plants, Agent Centre, etc. In addition, J-PARK has set up some boosting platforms like Technology Transfer Center, IOT Engineering Center, etc., which aim to provide about 10 privileges such as venture capital funding, rent-cutting and awards for promising projects, etc. Up to now, 31 college-student-run companies have been located in the 5000-square-meter incubator. Many characteristic companies have emerged, including Wuxi Mati Fashion, Wuxi Xidian Creative Design Inc., Wuxi Mile Creative Technology, Co., Ltd., Wuxi New Tuyun Creative Technology Development, Co.,Ltd., and Wuxi East & West Pavilion Creative Technology, Ltd. Also, quite a few star entrepreneurs have come to the fore, such as Ma Teng, a winner of “Jiangsu College-student Start-up Stars Competition” and Xu Zhenpeng once honored with “Wuxi Top Ten New Citizens”.
