In the 12th National Courseware Design Competition JU casted a honorable achievement, winning one gold medal, three bronze medals, one Best Design in College Humanities Team, six Outstanding Work awards and the Outstanding Organizer award overall. Meanwhile, one of JU’s faculties was awarded as “Distinguished Worker”. It is worthwhile to be mentioned, in particular, that the courseware “Simulation in Physichemistry” by Zheng Qiurong and “History of Western Political Concepts” by Zhang Xingming gained Best Design in Engineering Team and Humanities Team respectively.
The National Courseware Design Competition, hosted by the Educational Management Information Center (EMIC) of the Ministry of Education, is currently the largest and highest contest in China for its categories and influence. It brings to the candidates an opportunity of exchange and learning the educational technology. Besides, the EMIC established a national high educational resources platform, aiming to further the innovation and now collecting resources from all institutes, including over 1,000 courseware from the winners which are arranged into five categories, 62 subjects and a dozen types according to the materials. They’re accessible to JU’s faculty on the website, www.uken.cn.
The National Courseware Design Competition accelerated the advance of faculty’s techniques on courseware-making, application of IT technology and reform of educational methods, thus enhancing the teaching effects.
JU is trying to generalize the use of courseware and accumulate the finest ones, to ensure the reinforcement of teaching results. (Ken)
