A few days ago, good news from Degree Awarding Committee of the Ministry of Education and The State Council spread to every corner of Jiangnan University that a doctorial dissertation (supervised by Prof. Jin zhengyu) of Peng chi-fang, a PhD candidate majoring in food science at the School of Food Science and Technology has been awarded as the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China. The honor of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation always draws much attention in academic fields and is approved through strict selection and evaluation. This is the second timeJiangnanUniversitygets this award since the first winning bySchoolofLight Industryand Engineering in the year of 2008. This breakthrough is a remarkable achievement that our university has made in postgraduate education in implementing the "Climbing Project", and is a symbol our postgraduate education, especially doctor education has stepped into a higher phase.

In the past years, our university has been attaching great importance to the quality of postgraduate study and giving a full play of the guiding function of the National Excellent Doctorial Dissertation of China and Excellent Dissertation of Jiangsu Province. To enhance the cultivation of innovative talents, our university has established creative doctoral education fund in order to encourage PhD candidates to participate in creative scientific researches.
