On the afternoon of March 10,Du Guocheng,Standing CommitteeMemberof theCPCCommittee and Vice President ofJiangnanUniversity, met withthedelegationfromMassey Universityin New Zealand. The delegation is comprised ofRob Stevens and Peng Ping,General ManagerandSenior AdvisorofGlobal Partnershipsrespectively.Others attended the meeting included Fu Lili, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Food Science and Technology (SFST), Xie Yunfei, Deputy Dean of the SFST, Cai Jianying, Deputy Chief of the International Office and Qin Jie, who presided over the meeting.

DuGuocheng firstextended a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a general picture of Jiangnan University. He spoke highly of the progress made in the 3+1 Sino-foreign cooperative education project for undergraduate education in food science and engineering jointly developed by Jiangnan University and Massey University, and expressed sincere appreciation for great efforts made by both sides. Looking into the future, he wished that both sides would further expand and carry out higher-level international cooperation. Cai Jianying introduced in details rapid development of our university in recent years and current situation of international exchanges and cooperation. Likewise, Rob Stevens briefed on the overall situation of Massey University and features of colleges, and shared with guests Massey University’s cooperation with Chinese universities.

Two sides reached a consensus through discussion to further enhance cooperation and cover more majors with quality projects. Moreover, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in such fields as talent and teacher training, scientific research and development, as well asjointly-developedcoursesin the future.
